Surrounded by Honduras and Guatemala, El Salvador is the most densely populated country in Central America. Of its more than 7 million people, nearly 90% are of mixed Indian and Spanish descent.
During the past several decades, El Salvador has faced many trials, from civil war to natural disasters. Despite this, the country has a growing economy. It is not uncommon to see lavishly developed shopping centers right next to severely impoverished neighborhoods riddled with gangs and violence. CFCI is working within these areas to empower community development through both holistic and evangelistic ministries.
El Salvador is one of our largest bases with a medical and dental clinic, a soccer school, prison ministry, a child sponsorship program and so much more! Through all these avenues our hope is simply to meet the needs of the people and bring them the message of Christ.
As Christ for the City of El Salvador, we firmly believe in the work that God has entrusted us to do in our country. Knowing that many people need to hear of God's love and experience his unmerited grace.
For that reason, we constantly work on expanding our activities and ministry to be able to bear witness of the love of Jesus in every corner of El Salvador. We are currently working in more than eight communities where we are giving active witness of God's goodness.
Our task and duty is to continue expanding more and more and thus be able to bring the plan of salvation to more people through vocational programs, soccer schools, medical brigades, health clinics among many other activities.
The work we do would not bear fruit if it were not for the support of the local church, which is more than fundamental in everything we do. They are the ones who follow up on each of the people we reach.
In this way, the church has an active participation in the great commission to go into all the world, preach the Gospel, make disciples, and baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
But the work does not end there; Our commitment to the Salvadoran church is very strong and we also support the church in training, we give them tools so that they join our work, and they can continue to have a vision of what Jesus entrusted each one of us to do.
Many times, we have heard the phrase “hope is the last thing to be lost” and the truth is that it is a very real phrase for many of the people with whom we serve daily. From the boys in the soccer school, to the students in our “Speaking Hope” program
Each of the people we serve have such a complicated background in their homes that some may have already given up hope and are walking on “automatic mode”, but we believe that through the constant show of love we can share, their lives can change, and that hope can return.
Therefore, we invite you to join the work that we carry out daily here in El Salvador, and you can come on a short or long-term trip, and you can work with us to bring hope to every place in the Salvadoran territory.
