Geovani & Wendy Juarez

A little about Geovani & Wendy Juárez:

Geovani and Wendy were married in 2004 and have 3 children: Diego, Andres and Sofia. They are currently serving as Base Directors for CFCI Guatemala and are developing new ministries in the areas of: counseling services, pastoral training, and vocational training (English and cosmetics classes), in addition to the soccer ministry and receiving short-term mission teams. Their desire as a family is to serve God by blessing the lives of other people, through spiritual guidance, programs and projects.”

Guatemala Rescue Project

This is a long-term community transformation project that works with low-income families in the community of Eucalyptus, Guatemala through spiritual direction, education, mental and physical healthcare, nutrition, discipleship classes, sports ministry, parenting assistance, skills workshops and job development.

Families in this community are living in gang violence, unemployment, and absence of opportunity. There is a lack of sufficient housing, nutrition, jobs, healthcare and education. There is also no available community support when family members become terminally ill.

Our goal is work with 25 families (of 10 people per family) within this community, specifically abused or orphaned children, parents with low education or addictions, women experiencing domestic violence, and grandmothers caring for their grandchildren.

Our desire is to share with them the truth about Jesus and their identity in Him, and as a result see children graduating from school, parents providing for their families needs and the overall emotional and spiritual restoration of the community.

As part of this program we will:

Be providing lunch three days a week to children who would otherwise go without

Provide scholarships for 80 children and young people

Provide support for people diagnosed with cancer and other terminal illnesses

Facilitate monthly mental and physical healthcare check-ups

Provide each core family with a provision of staple foods per month

Conduct Bible studies

Provide sports and recreational facilities and opportunities

Teach parents a trade and job skills

Offer spiritual formation classes

You have many opportunities to be involved in bringing community transformation as part of this life changing project!

Support this project financially, or come visit as part of a team or as an individual.

We are also inviting churches, businesses, and families to partner with us long-term as part of our Community Transformation Partnership program, which will enable them to see and experience change and transformation over time.

Guatemala Music School

Our music school in Guatemala is being launched as a tool used to reach, encourage and evangelize the local population, including children and youth who are living in communities characterized by violence, addictions, abuse and corruption. These classes teach professional grade music skills alongside Bible studies, leadership and spiritual and academic support.

Would you join and assist us in supporting this life changing ministry?

Tilapia & Aquaponics Sustainable Farming Project

The main objective of this project is the production of tilapia and vegetables farming, which can generate financial resources for the projects and programs that CFCI-Guatemala develops for the communities. All of them are aimed at the integral transformation of individuals through the preaching of the Gospel.

Guatemala Soccer Supplies

Our Soccer School serves around 80-90 at-risk children in Guatemala, offering a Christ centered, fun and challenging environment that not only develops the student’s soccer skills, but also shapes and molds their lives outside of the field.

More than anything else this school is an avenue for discipleship; providing these kids with positive role-models, Christian teaching and a safe space.

Right now this school is in need of supplies and support, including:

Uniforms: including jerseys, shorts and socks ($16 each x 90 needed)

Cleats

30 cones ($4 each)

30 plates ($4 each)

1 net ($26)

90 water bottles

20 soccer balls

2 mini soccer goals

Monthly field rent ($135)

If you or anybody you know is able to help meet these needs we, and the children of Guatemala, would greatly appreciate the support!

Guatemala Single Mothers Program

This program is called ‘huellas’ (meaning footprints), named after Psalm 17: 5 “sustain my steps in your ways, so that my feet do not slip.”

The vision of this ministry is to assist and train single mothers in learning the skills to earn an income, and therefore support their families and children in sustainable ways. This occurs through the teaching of various craft projects and skills, with the purpose of training these women in an environment where they can learn and be surrounded by the love and encouragement of God for His people.

This project has several financial needs and is in need of support and assistance. Would you help us in caring for these families? Any and every donation is greatly appreciated!

Where Most Needed (Guatemala)

Half of the Guatemalan people are descendants of the Mayans. Most of the population lives in rural areas, but like other areas of the world, urbanization is growing. Over 14 million people live in Guatemala, with 4 million of those residing in or near the capital city of Guatemala City in the south central region. Approximately 60% of those in Guatemala City are living in poverty.

Rescue Project

The Rescue Project is a Child Sponsorship program in Guatemala that exists to be an integral part of the development and spiritual formation of low income families that are vulnerable to domestic violence, unemployment, long-term illness, loss of values, , and lack of study opportunities.

We have 48 children in need of sponsorship!

For $12/month you can provide one child with school supplies, a uniform including shoes, and their annual transportation fees.

Sponsorship also assists with meeting the specific needs of the community, including:

Resources for quality education, nutrition and decent housing for children, youth and adults.

Work and educational opportunities for the development of parents, who have a distorted understanding of the needs of their children.

Safe houses and legal protection for children, youth and women vulnerable to the physical and emotional abuse of relatives and gangs in the surrounding area.

Support for those who have been diagnosed with a terminal disease.

Education and treatment for preventable terminal diseases.

You can also visit this community and your sponsor child as part of a team, or as an individual.
