Our trips are personalized, meaning you can pick the dates for when your team goes and serves.  

Urban Plunge is currently available in: Chicago, Dallas, Des Moines, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Omaha, and Sioux Falls.

Our cost varies depending on the location and the length of trip.  2025 prices start at:

• 1 day = $85 per person
• 2 days (1 night) = $170 per person
• 3 days (2 nights) = $210 per person
• 4 days (3 nights) = $290 per person
• 5 days (4 nights) = $365 per person
• 6 days (5 nights) = $440 per person

• Lodging during the trip.
• All meals.
• A dedicated Urban Plunge Facilitator to be with your group.
• An Urban Plunge Coordinator to handle all project planning and scheduling.
• Supplies and project materials.
• Urban Plunge t-shirt for each participant.
• Faith Journal for each participant

For Urban Plunge trips transportation is not included. Your team  provides their own transportation. 

• Groups must provide transportation to and from the mission trip as well as daily to and from the sites.
• All vehicles must be available for transportation to and from the sites. (Mileage or fuel costs are not reimbursed for any transportation costs.)
• You need to have room in your lead car for our facilitator, and possibly an assistant. It may also be necessary to take a cooler and some supplies with you, so plan room for that.

Historically 75% of our groups have been youth groups, split evenly between high school and junior/middle school.  Family groups or adults have made up the balance of our teams. Church Plants and Adult Small groups have had excellent Plunge experiences.

We require a minimum of 10 participants per team.  You may bring less, but because of fixed costs, we will invoice you for 10 people to cover the weekend.  If your group is smaller than 10 participants, we can sometimes schedule you along with another small group and waive the 10 person minimum.  Because of the size of most of the ministry locations, the maximum team size is 25 people. If your group has more than 25 people, you may be split into two groups, which will run on slightly different ministry site schedules.

If the team is composed of Jr. High or Sr. High students, then chaperones are required.  You know your youth better than we do, so the decision is up to you as to how many chaperones accompany the team.  Although a CFCI facilitator will be with the group most of the time, they will not always be staying overnight.  The team leader(s) has the responsibility to stay with their participants during the nights and to monitor their discipline. Ensuring cooperation and disciplining behavior are the responsibility of the team leader and/or chaperones, not the Facilitator.

We generally spend 2-3 hours at each ministry and for the most part are engaged in hands-on service projects.  Plunge participants spend one-on-one time with many people; sometimes they get to briefly share their faith with the people they serve.  However, Plunge groups find that most of the time, they are either “planting” or “watering” the Gospel seed.  We teach Plunge participants that serving the poor is often a critical component to sharing Christ and living out the Gospel.

We can set up a fundraising page for you where your trip participants can invite family and friends to donate and support their mission trip.  Payments will come directly to us and are applied to the trip.  There is no additional cost for this service and it comes included as part of your trip.
